Who's the Greatest New Band of the last 5 years?
Here's a question for all the Ampers...Who's the Greatest New Band of the last 5 years?  The band Must be a newer band and not an old band with a new album.
My personal choice would have to be "My Chemical Romance"  Honestly their first album was in my humble opinion utter crap but by the time they recorded "The Black Parade" I think they really have grown as artists and became one of the Greatest bands of the modern age.
This is just my opinion so don't start bashing MCR but I'd like to hear your choices....Skunk

The Darkness.
Well, I think they have a little bit more than 5 years, but give them a change.
Well, that's the only new band I listen... Oh wait, Wolfmother! They kick asses too.

MCR, The Darkness, Wolfmother

Decent bands I must say.

5 years ago is such a long time, and there has been sooo many artists. Here's just a few:

Passion Pit
Rihanna
Amy Winehouse[a little more than 5 years]
Keane[ a little more than 5 years]
Dethklok
Vampire Weekend
MGMT
The Kooks

and a ridiculous amount more

GREEN DAY's OLD    but I really think in the last 5 years or so they've arrived as far as cornering a unique sound.  Ah Green Day...I remember when I was just a young lad and they were wearing dresses!!!

Green Day old? I'm pretty sure they don't have more than 10 years.

I wikied a little. They begun on 1990. That makes them quite new.
Old bands for me are at least from the 80s.

I saw vampire weekend and The Hot Rats on the late late show with craig ferguson and they are pretty cool.

Green Day was formed in 1987 but did not release their major label debut until 1890

Well, anyway, the year they formed isn't really important, is it?
They are a new band, that's the point.

ok let's talk about new music
I must admit Arctic monkeys had a pretty good start for such a band of young lads
Arcade fire are among my favorites too
As for Bat for Lashes you can't simply ignore them
Special mention to Beirut
And if I may say all of those are really new!
