I like the tone of the lead guitar.

It needs a lot work before you can call it your best attempt.  The golden rule in composing music is 'LESS IS MORE'.  In this instance means less melodic notes, much much less reverb. 

The structure needs looking at. Try the standard:
Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, Bridge, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Outro

Fade outs are the easy way to end a song, be creative and come up with a grand ending.
