Stuck In The Middle (Stealer's Wheel cover)
Another cover.  This time a Stealer's Wheel classic - Stuck in the middle with you.
I wanted to have a go at this as a bit of practise for playing, singing, recording and mixing.  It's not too bad... for an afternoon's work!

oh boy what a nice cover....

this reminds me to init a new discussion for creating a cover forum...

multilayered vocals... I always like the way to make music by hand

Nice cover. The vocals are slightly reminiscent of Tom Petty. Tight and well rehearsed. All in all great work.

EZ drummer?
It sounds really good. The vocals are excellent.
Should I ask if you are using a POD for the guitar recording? I'm asking this because it happens to me that when I use my POD it records with a bit of latency and due to the latency setting the track is sometimes out of synch, in both and anticipated or delayed way. In this case I feel like the guitar solo is not in perfect synchronization. It sound a bit anticipated; a few milliseconds before the beat. You can fix that really easily though.
Overall, great job. Never listened to the original but your version sounds really good.

Nice to see uploading again Jim, good to see you've put all that hard work of creating backing tracks to your band.

Very nicely put together, would have liked the vox slightly higher in the mix, THEY ARE GOOD!!!

Thanks everyone for your positive comments.  I enjoyed knocking this one out, and am pretty pleased with the overall sound.  I used it (minus lead vocal, bass, and guitars) on Tuesday for reahersal with Andy, my band's bassist - it worked really well, so success!
Iz, you're spot on with the EZdrummer software; it's a mixture of the drum patterns provided mixed with my own variations.  I think they're a little loud in the mix (as I agree with Denis about the vocal lead being a little quiet, certainly for the first first.
And Iz, you're also right that I use a POD as my recording interface, but I think you're mistaken about the timing issue.  I have the POD XTL which I use for everything - vocals, guitars, and bass.  As I've said, drum sounds are from EZ drummer, and the piano sound is from the M-Audio Key-rig, a VST that came with the USB keyboard I use.
Cheers

Sure think TK - there's no tab as such... I just play a very simple C to Bb repeated off beat.
