A Ball And Chain
"A Ball And Chain"
by Naked Toes & Olive

This is the very first track i recorded... it has been some time ago when i made a rough
drum track and recorded the guitar track... now, when i had the chance to ask a friend of mine
to make vocals for my song, i worked on it again... and together with her great voice
and vocal track (be honest - her voice is a hit ) it's what it was planned to be: a trip-hop-track
with female voice and dry sound..
i always want to make tracks with a full song structure.. i rarely record just a riff or some experiments,
because i'd always be unhappy with something that doesn't lead you through a whole musical story or
the moods a want to express.. so this track here has a full structure, too - it would be cool
if you listen to the whole thing, theres a break and stuff you would miss and i would like
to have your review on that, too thanks a lot!
i hope you enjoy it - there will be more of that kind!

ok I commented to this one, as I really enjoy that trip hop feel. it's a pretty good vocal job for sure, and the synths fit in real well. good arrangement, good song! well done!

Morcheeba/Portishead influences too clear for me on this one.  But excellent vox and arrangements... I tried to get that elegant dry trip-hop sound without any succes for a long time, hope you can give me some advice     Great production work...

LOVE THAT BASS and brake around 3:20

...you're right...there COULD be influence of portishead.. i love them!
..but i really didnt try to have the same sound... i think it happened
by accident on this one.. there will be more... thanks for your reviews!

Here's another who commented the first time round.
I cant fully remember what I wrote.
But it's pretty obvious I'd say, shit! what an excellent song. A complete song!
Yet !!! you want a comment?
Imagine this:
Love me the whole night...'through'
And in the morning I wont be gone...'o no!'

The 'through' and 'o no' would be descending at the end of the line, it would flow beautifully into the next line and give the vocal (melody) a different perspective.
You never know, never know, never know.......wonderful bit!

I remember now, the false 'noise', I complimented you on the fact that you'd produced this yourself.
I like it better each time I hear it!

So now I've got to keep an eye out for JohnnyMahony and not NakedToes!

Sounds like art music. The notes in your vocals are nicely placed off set from the natural tunning. Its gives it and interesting texture and feel. The music has very many interesting details.Sounds like you spent some time in this track.
I like it gets nice vote.
By the way i find it it very creative!!!
