this one is a track of our/anlogue birds 5th CD. I was really in the mood to put something smooth on it! the melody is a traditional arabian for the oud, a short neck lute. the analogue birds performed as an quartett that time and an maroccan oud player was part of the ensemble. I asked him if he wanted to do the tune after I arranged a bassline and a drumpattern for it and put it into musical shape. first it was planned to do the theme just with an oboe. I already recorded the guide track with the oboe player, but for some reasons it never worked out. instead of that that, my neighbour and pubmate, coincidental a worldclass violin player, agreed on having a few hour recordingsession. he played the thing just from the sheet I printed out of "logic" for him:-)
the bassline I wrote never happened. instead of that a jazz organ player who provided the room for the drum recordings played some easy layers with his original b3/leslie on top of it!
my part as a didgeridooplayer and the role of the tube  is more of secondary nature. I still love the piece for its history and sweetness. its so different from all the powerpieces we made!

wow.... this is very nice trippy space groove music alright!

the best of classical instrumentation, modern groove construction, and world music.

b3 rules!
yeah! that was a nice little extra for the drum recording. we had to carry the heavy beast  down the whole staircase to the basement recording room. i never want to be roadie in a blus band;-).
but its such a lovely piece of music and furniture!

bassline and didge
yeah! the missing bassline still stings a little bit! i did put a lot of effort to it. but i didnt want to play it myself. i did wait for our bassplayer to nail it....but...he left the band and the album had to be released:-( its a very dynamic basshook. but, who knows, i am going to record it again.

im glad taka likes the didge, even if its not the highenergy kind of speed and power didge.

This is just a fabulous sound.
The playing of all instruments is excellent
The construction is excellent
The recording is....... well, excellent!!!

Nothing like any music I'd listen to ordinarily - that's the beauty of this site I think; the exposure to different musical styles.

Voted high, downloaded, and going on the MP3 player

Absolutely amazing!  I have only downloaded a couple of songs on Bandamp this one is a definite.  It sounds like its from 2000 years ago but with a modern flare and brilliance.  The chord progressions are different and so refreshing to the ear.  The organ surprised me. Nice work, can't pronounce the instrument but love it nonetheless!
